• Slimmer and fitter is the way the present generation is shaping. Everyone wants to become fit and remain so for as long as he or she can. Lifestyles too demand fitness, and the knowledge that it could lead to a better and easier life makes people get physical.

  • Most people start off strong with an exercise programme and then, within a few weeks, they've already got an ex cure to quit. There are, of course, ways to keep up a regimen and achieve the kind of fitness one wants and, more importantly, can.

  • You need to first decide that working out is as important as anything else in your life, even as important as life it-self. Only then can one make workouts a key part of the daily schedule. If you don't, as soon as the initial excitement of a new programme is over, everything else will get in the way — business appointments, family obligations, television viewing. Anything and everything.

  • Write your workout times on your calendar and stick to them just as you would a vital business meeting. Keep it mellow. You are likely to keep your programme for the long term if you avoid letting going to the gym be-come a hassle. So choose a gym you can get to in a reasonable time at the time of day you are going to train. Many people often start out too aggressively. going to a level that's higher than they are capable of As a result, they injure their muscle fibers and then walk around like a mummy.

  • Again some do not realise that long drawn out workouts is not better. You are not giving your body enough time to recover between workouts. So the best way is to set achievable goals.

  • When you are starting out,go over your long-term goals with a qualified trainer or coach and de-cede what you can achieve based on your workout schedule. Instead of looking too far ahead into the future, give your-self intermediate weekly or monthly goals. If you always have new goals, it stays interesting.

  • Be it in a gym or just in an open ground, remember you are not exercising regular leaner, you will have more energy and you will have a higher self-esteem. Get on to a field or a treadmill then. And do stay there.
